Ruins of Pueblo Bonito, Chaco Culture National Historical Park

Remarkably intact after almost 2000 years, the ruins in Chaco Canyon are included on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. the great house - Peublo Bonito was likely more a ceremonial site, rather than a fully, and constantly occupied village structure, as very few midden piles (refuse heaps) have been found there.
