Doorways
and beam holes at the ruins of Pueblo Bonito, Chaco Canyon,
New Mexico
Small
doorways connect a series of rooms in Pueblo Bonito. The
size of the doors were determined by the size of the Chacoan
people, which was small, compared to most modern humans.
The ruins, according to Wikipedia, may have once had as
many as 800 rooms. The configuration of Pueblo Bonito
and its associated petroglyphs reflect a clear understanding
of the lunar and solar cycles which affected crops, rituals,
and the type of shelter needed.
