Many
of the ruins across the Southwest have had a history of
vandalism or damage from pot hunters, before it was illegal
for non-academics to dig for artifacts. The importance
of the artifacts that were removed, or stolen, will never
be known, due to the lost ability to place them in context
with a specific ruin, or time period.
