Details of subterranean rooms at Pueblo Arroyo, Chaco Culture
National Historic Park
The
ruins of Peublo Arroyo once had numerous levels, including
subterranean rooms and elevated floors reached by ladders.
Unfortunately, the early discoverers and archeologists
at Chaco Canyon didn't understand the true value of the
fallen wooden beams and ladders, and used most of them
for firewood.
