Beam holes in the cliff face at Puye Cliff Dwellings, New Mexico

You can imagine the numbers and levels of adobe structures that once lined the cliffs, by counting the beam holes that the ancient Puebloans drilled into the soft rock at Puye Cliff Dwellings.
